Background in sculpture and installation, focusing on disability and architecture: articulated through the synthesis of objects, words, and photography of the vicissitudes of daily life for people with physical limitations. The poetry of things that stimulate self-consciousness, be they delightful, embarrassing, funny or infuriating. Biographical witness, rites of passage, the inescapable architectural entanglements of the wheeled-embodied-subject. Humorous dialogues between contentious subjects/objects in institutional spaces.
Currently sampling household bacteria from objects, people, and pets; these swabs are mingled and grown in petri dishes. The swabs are deftly applied to the agar medium akin to paint on canvas. The resulting bacilli growth patterns and forms are scaled up in a series of paintings. A floating effect is achieved with the use of absolute black as background. These super enlarged microbes that are usually feared and defended against by cleaning, sterilising, washing, are raised up to level of gorgeous pathogens using expressionist paint marks.
She sits inside, creative Goddess
Waiting for tangential alignment
Cheek to cheek
A neurological tango.
My lover is a firm brush dipped in Indian ink
Long snaking brushstroke
The sound of thick paper
The whole body in the mark
We work together
